As soon as I turned 16 I went out looking for a task. I waited long enough, I had my drivers permit, and I was ready to beginning making some currency. I didn’t think why just yet, however I wanted a task to beginning making currency for myself, so I didn’t have to rely on anyone else. I split sods with a groundskeeping service for a few weeks, however it wasn’t for me. A acquaintance of my dad gave me a task in her propane and propane accessories store, and I jumped at the chance. I learned a lot at that store, and I credit it for getting me interested in the field, which suddenly lead me to Heating & A/C systems service within a few weeks. Once I left the propane store and started studying heating and cooling repair, I stopped having a “task” and started building a career; Even at age 17 I knew I wanted to build a future, and I could clearly see that the pay and benefits an Heating & A/C serviceman could acquire would be more than anything I could make in the propane store. I took night classes for several weeks, while working area time for an Heating & A/C corporation and still working a few hours each month at the propane store. After working 2 tasks plus taking Heating & A/C classes, when I graduated and got to only work 1 task it almost felt like a vacation. I am still friends with the owner of the propane store, and am honestly thankful she set me on the course towards Heating & A/C repair.
