A fireplace is apparently not the greatest heating method out there, however but, it is all that have right now in my home, the gas oil furnace came with the house & I can’t afford to replace it at the precise moment, then my main beef with the oil furnace is that it is not connected to HVAC duct or even baseboards. The heated air simply pushes out of a vent & that is it. My entire downstairs level can hardly get heated with the little fireplace. The upstairs level is chilly and very cold, but i have bought several space furnaces for the upstairs level. I have to keep 1 located in the washroom to stop my pipes from chilly. I need to keep another in my family room & I definitely also love to have 1 in my main hallway. The space furnaces look terrible, however I simply have to do it in order for my house to not recognize love an ice box. I suppose if I had a little wimpy shack or maybe a house in the south, a gas fireplace would be a feasible heater. It just is not that powerful, but enjoyable & it looks undoubtedly nice… Climates that don’t require all that much heating would be perfect, then when the temperatures get to be around 2 degrees outside though, I don’t undoubtedly care how my fireplace looks. I want an industrial strength oil furnace in place, now working around the clock to keep myself and others warm, and someday my larger plan is to get rid of the fireplace & get a big boiler method in my basement. The boiler system should be able to heat my entire house via baseboard! Or if I get undoubtedly costly I suppose I can hook piping to it & have radiant floors.
