Last Wintertide was one of the coldest on record.
The temperature dropped into the low forties in early October. By the middle of January, we were dealing with temperatures well below zero, dangerous windchill plus constant snowfall. Attempting to combat the consequences of the horrible weather was terrible plus luxurious. I’d hired a woman to plow our driveway, plus she was needed many times per day. I spent hours shoveling the walkways plus our front porch every day. By the evening, everything was filled in with many feet of snow again… Plus, with the severe cold, I spent a fortune on our daily heating bills. I kept raising the control unit, trying to keep the lake house halfway comfortable. The gas furnace seemed to be running non stop. The wear plus tear proved too much, plus the heating idea eventually quit on a Wednesday evening, just after respected supplier hours. Because the Wintertide was proving to be super luxurious, I didn’t want to spend our money extra for overtime charges. I decided to hold off calling the Heating as well as A/C business until normal repair hours on the following Wednesday. Going without heat for the weekend was undoubtedly unpleasant. Although our family bundled up in extra jackets, wool socks plus blankets, we all shivered. I plugged in a few space heaters, but they failed to make much of an improvement. For the entire weekend, the outside temperature never climbed above several degrees. I contacted the Heating as well as A/C company first thing on Wednesday day plus begged for an immediate appointment. Although the Heating as well as A/C serviceman came right over, she couldn’t maintenance the gas furnace. She needed to order a section which took many days to come in. Both of us ended up living without the operation of the gas furnace for almost a week.
