My university recently built a small building to serve as a concession stand for our sporting events.
The sports that could be held in our indoor gym, such as basketball plus volleyball already had the benefit of a concession stand with a kitchen! However, it had been difficult to supply refreshments for the spectators of our outdoor sports, such as football.
The concession building was quite a neat little building once it was constructed by the university. I have to say it was more current than the one inside. All it needed was a large kitchen area and a full bathroom and it could have been a miniature home! Besides the nature of its construction, the other reason that made me guess it would have made a pretty nice little house was the fact that it had a ductless mini split Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C unit for temperature control controlled by a thermostat. Obviously central heating plus cooling was too expensive for such a small building, so the university obviously felt that window air conditioners were not going to make the cut. Apparently, the perfect solution was the ductless mini split unit. The unit consists of an indoor plus outdoor component, both of which are small and super easy to install. Plus they connect to each other. Now, the people I was with and I suddenly had the perfect concession for outdoor sporting events. The workers within the concession building were kept perfectly warm or cool depending on the time of the year. Plus us workers were able to sell all sorts of food plus drink that we just were not able to do before. Thanks to our temperature-controlled concession stand, attendance of outside sports events honestly went up and we’ve made a lot more money this year than last year.
