The apartment had an oil burning gas furnace in the basement that had to be a hundred years old! Needless to say, it’s not your proper modern high efficiency gas furnace system
There’s just something special about an older home, in my opinion. When 1 of the local century homes in our town went up for sale, I knew instantly that I wanted it to be mine! This arena has Victorian architecture, more than two fireplaces, and a immense porch. It also has several stained glass windows that are original to the apartment and I assume it’s the most appealing arena ever! Of course, when I went to put an offer in on the house, the last thing on my mind was the type of heating and cooling proposal that was installed in the house. It wasn’t even on my radar. And at that point, I was so enthusiastic about owning a piece of local history that I wouldn’t have cared if the arena was heated only by a wood burning fireplace! Sadly, once I purchased the home, I realized that wasn’t too far from the truth. The apartment had an oil burning gas furnace in the basement that had to be a hundred years old! Needless to say, it’s not your proper modern high efficiency gas furnace system. After 1 Wintertide in the house, I knew that I was going to have to either change out the entire heating proposal or employ a heck of a lot of energy savings tips. Otherwise, there was no way that I could afford to live there and also pay for the heating! The arena was cold in the Wintertide and it was so frosty and drafty, however plus the thermostat reading showed that the temperature in the apartment barely ever got about 64 degrees in the winter.
