We just recently decided that all of us wanted to do a little something more with our sun room.

  • Our sunroom is great and it gives a beautiful look into our backyard and we spend quite a lot of time in it.

But naturally, our sun room is not so great while it’s during the hottest and coldest times of the year. It’s a little too sizzling in the Summer at particular times of the day when the sun is glaring through the windows. It’s also pretty frigid in the wintertime because of the lack of insulation and temperature control that it doesn’t have. Nature is no less beautiful to observe while in the Summer or the winter, that was for sure but we wanted to turn our sunroom into an all-season room so we can enjoy it on the hottest and coldest days of the year. In order to pull that off we needed to make some renovations especially when it comes to the heating and cooling unit that we had before it. We certainly needed some form of temperature control. Window air conditioning units for the Summer time would be big, boxy as well as ugly and we just didn’t want that! Setting up portable furnaces in the Winter time, while potentially could be a workable solution, would cause tripping and potential dangerous fire hazards. It seemed like our best option was a ductless, mini-split Heating as well as A/C unit! We would not need to extend our ductwork and pay more money in ductwork. Instead, the ductless mini-split Heating as well as A/C unit consists of an indoor air handler as well as an outdoor compressor and condenser unit. There was more than one separate components that were joined by piping and the piping doesn’t result in no more than a 3-inch hole in the wall. In short, a ductless, mini split unit was perfect for our needs and does wonders for the sunroom.
