When I first moved into town, I absolutely needed a job.

The last few jobs that I had were factory jobs, and they showed no real path to a job.

So when I decided to pack up and move, I wanted to option a modern job path. I knew that I couldn’t go back to college and take on any student debt. Instead, I decided to learn a trade; My first choice was to be an electrician. However, I rapidly decided to be an Heating and Air Conditioning worker instead… Electricians spend a lot of their time laboring outside while I was in the Winter, fixing downed power lines and broken meters. However, I do not love the cold, and I would prefer to be in a warmer environment; During the normal Winter, Heating and Air Conditioning workers spend their time indoors fixing oil gas furnaces and heaters. Even though those units are broken and it could be freezing, it is still a lot warmer than being outside. When the people I was with and I are laboring outdoors, it is usually underneath a house or in an attic, where the house is being built. Regardless, the people I was with and I Heating and Air Conditioning workers regularly get more heat than an electrician. Also, I found that running wires and fixing electric panels are more complicated and more dangerous than being an Heating and Air Conditioning worker. I get to work on Heating and Air Conditioning equipment, which is a lot simpler. As soon as I cut off the power to the Heating and Air Conditioning unit, there is little danger for me. I also think it is cool that the people I was with and I provide heat and cooling to families in order to make them comfortable. I am so glad that I changed our mind and decided to be an Heating and Air Conditioning serviceman.
