My brother works for a custom furniture company and I own a winery.

You would think that these two jobs would never overlap, but they actually did.

I started out making wine in my parent’s basement. I had to lug my carbouys, measuring spoons, sugar and yeast in and out all the time. I finally got the wine production to the point that I could afford to have a building constructed for the wine making process and storage of my materials. Before I had anything set up and made, my brother called me up. He said that I should use his custom furniture building skills. Since he was my brother and I wanted to support him, I did hire him to make some furniture for my winery. He went above and beyond with what he made. My brother made wooden shelving units that were on wheels. The wooden storage units were the perfect size to carry multiple carboys in two layers. None of the glass bottles touched and had any danger of getting damaged. Having the unit on wheels was so handy too. I was constantly moving things around in the winery since I needed more space in certain areas. My brother custom built shelves, tables and work desks that were all on wheels. Everything can be moved into the corners or along the walls. Each furniture piece is the same size and all fits perfectly on top of one another. Now that everything is done, working with the wine is so easy. I also tell anyone who will listen about my brother’s amazing talents.
