I work for a busy pest control company, and I am outside 90% of the time.
- Unless I’m driving from one location to another, I’m outdoors all of the time.
During the summer, the outdoor temperatures are usually 95 or 100 degrees. It’s a long and hot day, and I barely make it sometimes. Since I have tattoos on both of my forearms, the pest control company makes me wear a long sleeve shirt. We are also required to wear long pants. In 95-degree weather, long sleeves and long pants are a major disaster. My uniform is a very dark color, and I usually have to go home and change at lunch. I changed my shirt, socks, pants, and underwear. Sometimes I even take a cold shower. On the days that I am away from work, I like to sit at home in the AC. I don’t mind going out somewhere, but I like to be indoors in the AC. My wife doesn’t usually suggests an outdoor activity, especially during the summer. When she came to me with the idea of swimming at a natural spring, I thought she was crazy. I didn’t want to spend 90 minutes in the car to look at a bunch of water. My wife convinced me that everything would be fine, and she promised to keep the AC on high during the entire car ride there and back. When we arrived to our destination, I was really surprised. The natural spring was very blue and the water was clear. The spring was almost 50 ft deep, but I could see every inch of the bottom. I had a great time, and I didn’t mind spending my day off without any AC.
