The summers in this part of the country are ruthless and powerful.
You may think I am exaggerating but I assure you the summer heat is not something that we ever play around with.
Doing yard work between the hours of noon and 4 is almost suicidal, so everyone does their chores early in the morning or later in the evening, me included. Some days get so hot that it’s dangerous to even go to the swimming pool, can you imagine what sort of heat that takes? That’s the sort of heat we get here all summer, every summer, so working in the HVAC industry has great job security around here. One of the best perks that comes with that job is that I can always make sure my home air conditioner is in tip top shape. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, that’s what they say, and it surely is true when it comes to HVAC systems. The biggest problems people have with their central heating and air systems are all caused by neglect. Not all problems are due to this, of course, I’m just saying that careful upkeep of your A/C will stop 90% of problems from ever happening. I see this all the time in my day to day work, and I try to tell our customers how to keep these AC issues from happening again, but very few listen. It’s so much easier to turn the thermostat way down and just let it run and run without thinking about the consequences.
