When you live in the north you are just used to being cold.

I would say 90% of the time the weather is cold and uncomfortable.

I imagine it is the opposite in the south. They must be used to being hot, sweaty and gross anytime they dare venture outside. In the north anytime I venture outside I brace for the cold air. I have to bundle up in heavy layers most of the year. Most people are shocked by how thin I am when I am indoors and I can take the layers off. The only way you can chuck the wool coat, sweatshirt and boots is with quality heating. That is 1 thing northerners do not mess around with, however all of us have good, durable and strong furnaces. My new home entirely has numerous weird types of furnaces, you can’t just get by with 1 furnace when the weather drops into the -20s. I have a gas fireplace that only needs to supply heating for the home office and my living room. The kitchen has a ventless gas furnace that only works for the 1 room. The upstairs study room and bathroom have an electric furnace that is centrally located. In the heart of the Winter all numerous of the oil heating systems are going at once. Even with them all working, the new home is not exactly aoverheatedbox. But, I can make due with it. Once the weather starts warming up, I only rely on the gas fireplace in the home office, then for the brief Summer weather, I just don’t run a heater. It is neveroverheatedenough to even suppose about cooling system.
