I knew that my boss didn’t want to let me go because I would fix the HVAC system for free and he wouldn’t have to call an HVAC company to come out to the office
I have been working in a really toxic environment for a couple of years now. I really don’t like my boss and he makes it really hard for me to want to get up every morning and come into work. I have asked a couple of my coworkers if they feel the same way that I do about our boss, but I don’t think that anyone else has had the same experience as I have had at this job. Everyday I come in and my boss is yelling at me about something and normally it is not something that I did or could control. He just would yell at me for no reason at all. It was like he picked me to be his pet and would just yell about something. One day I was really fed up with his behavior and just lost it. I told my boss that I was going to quit and went back to my desk to start packing up my things. However, my boss followed me over to my desk and started to apologize for his behavior. He said that I couldn’t quit because I was the only one that knew how to work the HVAC system. Before I started working at this job, I was an HVAC tech for ten years and I knew all the ends and outs of every HVAC system on the market. I knew that my boss didn’t want to let me go because I would fix the HVAC system for free and he wouldn’t have to call an HVAC company to come out to the office. My boss knew that keeping me around was good for his bottom line because I would fix the HVAC system without question.
