I’ve always been someone who likes to get a good deal.
But I’ve recently been made aware that you actually get what you pay for.
I always look for good deals, but sometimes deals are actually too good to be true. For instance, we found out last week that we were going to have to purchase a new heating and air conditioning system for our house. I like to do a lot of research and compare prices extensively, especially when it comes to things like home improvement projects. So when we found out from our HVAC technician that we needed a whole new HVAC system, I went online and read tons of reviews of different types of heating and cooling systems that are available. I knew that we wanted to get a high efficiency furnace and a central air conditioning unit that would be able to cool off our giant two story great room. That room is always a challenge when it comes to heating and cooling because of the vaulted ceilings and the big two story windows on two sides of the room. So when my husband found what he termed as a good deal on an HVAC system, I warned him that it might not end up being as great as it sounded. The price that the heating and cooling company gave as an estimate just sounded way too inexpensive to me. However, my husband was thrilled with the price and signed the contract right away. Of course, now that we’re stuck with this particular heating and cooling system, it’s not working the way that it should. I hate to say I told you so, but you really do get what you pay for.
